How does teeth whitening work?
When the treatment is applied to teeth, the carbamide peroxide breaks down into hydrogen peroxide and urea. Though the latter is a waste product, the hydrogen peroxide does the bleaching through a reaction with existing stains and discolouration. This causes the stains and discolouration to change their chemical structure so that they're no longer coloured, thus resulting in a brightened smile.
How many in-chair visits are needed?
In most instances, a single visit is all that is needed to achieve the desired result, however, this can be dependent on the existing colour of the patient's teeth and what shade they wish to achieve.
How long will the results last?
Results will remain stable for 6 months to a year (sometimes longer), however this can be affected by how you take care of your teeth. Visiting your dentist regularly and avoiding foods and activities that can darken teeth (like coffee, alcohol, sugars, and smoking) will help keep your teeth white and healthy for longer.

What is the success rate of dental implants?
It varies from individual to individual and with health and habits. For a healthy individual with good oral hygiene and good health, dental implants are predictably successful with reported success rates above 90 - 95%.
How long does the in-chair treatment take?
Professional in-chair teeth whitening takes 1 hour.
What does the in-chair teeth whitening treatment involve?
We place the patient in the chair in a comfortable position and place barriers and protective measure. We then carefully apply 3-4 bleaching cycles on the teeth.
Are there any side effects of teeth whitening?
All bleaching gel causes some degree of tooth sensitivity. Experiencing sensitivity is normal and fades within 1-2 days. If sensitivity persists, you should contact your dentist.
Will teeth whitening treatments whiten my veneers, crowns, and bonding?
Teeth whitening products will only work on natural tooth structure. This means that all dental work (including but not limited to bonding, veneers, crowns, and bridges) will NOT bleach or whiten. If you have these kinds of dental work, they may need to be replaced to match the newly whitened teeth.
